The optional humidifier is required for the measurement of seawater. The humidifier humidifies the nebulizer gas (also called carrier gas) and reduces salt deposition in the nebulizer.
Make sure that the humidifier is connected correctly before you start your analysis, as shown below:
Humidifier Connection
Connect the nebulizer gas supply tube of the main unit to the MAIN IN connector of the humidifier.
Connect the red tube supplied with the humidifier to the ON and IN connectors.
Connect the blue tube to the BYPASS and OUT A connectors.
Connect the tube between the OUT B connector of the humidifier and the nebulizer gas connector of the nebulizer.
Set the switch to the ON side.
When the switch is set to ON, the nebulizer gas becomes humidified.
The inner sleeve is not required when you connect the humidifier tube.
When the switch is set to the BYPASS side, the nebulizer gas bypasses the humidifier.
Make sure that the pure water level in the humidifier is between the MIN and MAX lines, and be sure to maintain the amount of pure water in the humidifier within the appropriate range.
Dismount the humidifier before you run Plasma Correction. Even if the humidifier switch is set to the BYPASS side, the nebulizer gas takes some time to respond. Therefore, the humidifier must be dismounted before you run plasma correction.
