Plasma Correction

Plasma correction adjusts the plasma condition so that the plasma can be used under the same stable condition in any instrument.

When plasma correction is run, the sensitivity-oxide ratio profile is measured, and the correction value is set according to the individual instrument.

When to do plasma correction

Do plasma correction in the following cases:

Once plasma correction is done, you won't need to do it again, when you use the instrument for normal measurement.

Considerations for plasma correction

Be aware of the following considerations about plasma correction.

If a humidifier is used, dismount the humidifier before you run plasma correction. Even if the humidifier switch is set to the BYPASS side, the nebulizer gas (also called carrier gas) takes some time to respond. Therefore, the humidifier must be dismounted before you do plasma correction.

For details, refer to "Humidifier Connection (Seawater Analysis: Option)".

If the sampling cone or skimmer cone is contaminated, the sensitivity for high oxide ratio (cooler plasma condition) decreases. This prevents accurate plasma correction. To avoid this, clean the sampling cone and skimmer cone before you do plasma correction.
