Standard Items

User Objects are found in the General section on the Design Toolbox pane. They are items that can be used on the canvas, are editable, and are not data source dependent.

To place the object into the report, drag it from the Design Toolbox onto the Design Canvas.

The available Standard Items are listed below.

Text Object

To edit the text, drag the text box from the General section in the Design Toolbox pane onto the Design Canvas. Double-click the text box to open a text editing box. When you have finished editing, press CONTROL+ENTER on the keyboard or click elsewhere in the Design Canvas to accept the changes.

Image Object

To change the image data path, double-click on the image in the Design Canvas and browse to the image using the standard Windows Explorer window that appears.

Current Date/Time Object

This displays the date and time on the computer when the report is generated. You can change the date and time format by clicking 'Date Time' on the 'Home' tab with the Date Time object selected.

User Name Object

This displays the user name of the person logged on to the computer at the time the report was generated.

Page Break Object

The page break will put anything below it onto the next page of the report.

Page Number Object

This displays the page number of each page on the report. It can only be used in the report header or footer.

Print Together Object

Drag the Print Together object onto the Design Canvas and insert all items that need to remain together on a page. Print Together will put them all onto the following page if they are too large to fit on the current page. Resize the box by dragging the handles in the middle of the Print Together box up or down.

Computer Name Object

This displays the name of the computer on which the report is generated.

Company Logo Object

Drag this object onto the Design Canvas to display the logo. Size mode options are not available for the Company Logo object.

Insert or Remove Extra Space

This is used to remove or add extra space on the Design Canvas. Click the 'Insert or Remove Extra Space' button and then drag up or down on the canvas to remove or add space.
