[Set Prohibited Masses] dialog box

Set prohibited masses.

Insert prohibited masses to protect the detector (EM) from large signals caused by Oxygen, Argon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, and other polyatomic ions.

When it is installed, the following default values are configured.

Setup Table

[Mode] column

Displays each tune mode.

[Masses] column

Displays the specified prohibited masses. They can be changed (see CAUTION note below).

[OK]

Applies the settings.

[Cancel]

Cancels the settings.

 

Do not change the prohibited masses setting except for specific applications, such as measurement of 40Ca with cool plasma conditions).

 

If under normal plasma conditions, large signals will cause the rapid deterioration of the detector (EM).
