Sample types

MassHunter Workstation categorizes data by sample type for data analysis.

The uses for each sample type are defined as follows.

Background

Set for background subtraction blanks. The data in this sample is subtracted from each sample data acquired.

BlkVrfy

Blank Verify

Set for blanks for blank concentration stability. Lets you verify calibration curve by measuring this sample regularly. The blank is quantified and becomes an outlier if the result exceeds the standard.

CalBlk

Calibration Blank

Set for blanks for calibration curves and used as the reference for ISTD Stability Graph. Samples used as reference for the ISTD Stability Graph can be changed in the Batch Table. Right-click on the row of the sample to set as a reference and select [Set as ISTD Reference File] from the context menu.

CalStd

Calibration Standard

Set for standard solution samples for calibration curves. Set the calibration curve level in the Level column of the Batch Table.

DilIS

Dilution ISTD

Set for standard solution samples for simultaneous correction when using ISIS 2 Autodilution. However, new data acquisition is not possible.

DilStd

Dilution Standard

Set for standard solution samples for periodic correction when using ISIS 2 Autodilution. However, new data acquisition is not possible.

DriftChk

Drift Check

Set to standard solution samples when executing “Reslope-NextSmpl” in the optional Intelligent Sequence application.

FQBlk

Full Quant Blank

Set for blanks for blank concentration subtraction in FullQuant Analysis. The concentration of this sample is subtracted from each sample data that is acquired.

CICSpike

CICSpike

Set for spiked samples in the optional chromatographic analysis.

IsoStd

Isotope Analysis Standard

Set for standard solution samples for mass bias correction in Isotope Ratio Analysis and Isotope Dilution Analysis.

QC1 to 5

Quality Check 1 to 5

Set for QC samples used for FullQuant Outliers and QC Sample Stability Graphs. There are three types of QC samples: If you have set to show outliers from QC1 to 5 in the [FullQuant Outliers] dialog box, you must enter the concentration for QC1 to 5 in the Calibration pane of the Analysis Method.
