Opening a New Template

When Report Designer is opened in your host application, a new template is automatically opened. Report Designer uses the currently opened data to populate the Design Canvas Worksheet Items. This allows you to skip this step and begin laying out Worksheet Items on the Canvas.

To open a new template:

  1. If Report Designer is not already opened, open the Settings dialog box on the Data Analysis window, and then click Open Designer in Report category.
  2. Click the 'File' tab and then choose New.

The Report Designer displays Standard Items, a blank canvas and a blank Live Preview pane. The Ribbon now has more options available to select.
