[New Batch Folder]

Click [Browse] to open the [New Batch Folder] dialog box where you can create a new batch folder.

Enter the folder name, click [Create Batch], and then displays the [MassHunter Method Wizard] dialog box. You can create a new batch using Method Wizard.

[Open Batch Folder]

Click a batch folder to open a batch.

 

You cannot open a batch created using MassHunter that has a different Instrument Type. For example, MassHunter for Agilent 7700 cannot open batches created in MassHunter for Agilent 7900, and vice versa.

 

[Import from Existing Batch]

Opens the [Select Batch Folder] dialog box, which lets you select a batch folder to import from and opens the [Select Batch Contents] dialog box, which lets you select the items to import.

[Save Batch]

Overwrites the current batch.

[Save Batch As]

You can save the current batch folder with a different name.

 

 

[Save as Template]

The currently open batch is saved as a Batch Template file.

[Close]

Closes the current opened batch.

[About]

Displays version information for ICP-MS MassHunter application.

[Exit]

Closes the [ICP-MSQQQ MassHunter] window. If you have modified the batch folder, you are prompted to save or discard the changes.

When an error is found in the method, the folder cannot be saved.

[Home] tab

[Sample Handling] group

[Nebulizer Pump Speed]

Changes the speed of the Nebulizer Pump.

[Off]

Stops the Nebulizer Pump.

[Normal (0.1 rps)]

Changes the speed of the Nebulizer Pump for normal analysis.

[Fast (0.5 rps)]

Changes the speed of the Nebulizer Pump at the setting for manual uptake or rinse.

 

 

[Autosampler]

Click this icon to open the [Select Vial] dialog box, which allows the user to set current vial#. The vial number is displayed on the right of the icon. When [Use Autosampler] is set to Off, a message is displayed asking whether or not [Use Autosampler] should be on. If you click Yes, [Use Autosampler] is enabled, and the [Configure Autosampler] dialog box is displayed.

 

The term "ALS" has been changed to "Autosampler" in MassHunter 4.4.

 

This pull-down menu also contains the following menus.

[Rinse Port]

Moves the autosampler probe to the rinse port.

[Goto]

Moves the probe to the vial position that is specified in the [Select Vial] dialog box.

[Home]

Moves the autosampler probe to the home position.

[Move]

Moves the probe to the vial position that is specified in the [Select Vial] dialog box.

[Change Rack]

Displays the [Rack] tab in the [Configure Autosampler] dialog box. You can change the Rack configurations.

[Initialize]

Restores the autosampler to its default settings. Run this command if the autosampler cannot be controlled for some reason.

[Property]

The [Configure Autosampler] dialog box is displayed.

[Use Autosampler]

Select when using an autosampler.

[Startup] group

[Plasma]

Ignites or turns off the plasma.

[Configuration]

Show [Startup] group on Task Navigator.

[Skip Warm-up]

Skips the warm-up time.

[Tune] group

[Set as Global Tune]

When this is on, User Tune parameters are imported and the latest user tune report is copied to the batch when it sends to Queue. See Global Tune.

[Batch] group

[New]

Opens the [New Batch Folder] dialog box, which lets you create a new batch folder.

[Open]

Opens the [Select Batch Folder] dialog box for loading a Batch file.

[Create from Template]

Opens the [Common File Selected] dialog box. The batch created from the selected Batch Template file is opened. The acquisition method, DA method, sample list, PeriPump/AVS settings, and so on are contained in this file. The extension is “*.icpms.template”.

[Validation]

Checks the current batch. If an error is found, the Method Error List Pane appears and the details of the error are displayed.

[Save As]

You can save the current batch folder with a different name.

 

 

[Add to Queue]

Adds the current batch to the Queue.

[Advanced Option]

Show [Monitor] and [Worklist Actions] menu in [Acquisition] group on Task Navigator.

[Acquisition Queue] group

[Resume]

Resumes the Queue engine.

[Pause]

Pauses the Queue engine.

[Stop]

Stops the Queue engine.

[View] tab

[Show] group

[Panes]

Restores the default layout.

Displays or hides the Instrument Status Pane.

Displays or hides each task pane.

[Real Time Display]

Displays or hides the Real Time Display Pane.

Displays or hides the toolbar for configuring each task pane.

Displays or hides the toolbar on the Real Time Display Pane.

[Real Time Signal - Chart Control]

Displays or hides the Display toolbar on the Real Time Display Pane.

[Queue]

Displays or hides the toolbar on the Acquisition Queue Pane.

[User Tune Settings]

Makes the Real Time Display Pane appear full-screen.

[Meters]

Opens the [Select Meter] dialog box, which lets you configure the meters to display in the Instrument Status Pane.

[Report] tab

[Hardware] group

[Performance Report]

Starts measuring the performance.

When a measuring is complete, Performance information, tuning status, and meter values are displayed in each tab on the Performance Report Pane.

[Tune Report]

Starts the acquisition to create the tune report for hardware. The confirmation message shows the file name of the tune report template that was used.

[Tune Report Settings]

Opens the [Generate Tune Report] dialog box, which lets you configure the settings of the tune report and starts the acquisition.

[Tune Check Criteria]

Opens the [Set Tune Check Criteria] dialog box, which lets you set the check criteria for tuning.

[Batch] group

[Print Batch Method]

Opens the [Print Batch Method] dialog box. When you select the batch method to be printed and then click [Print], printing starts.

This pull-down menu also contains the following menus.

[Print Acq Parameter]

Prints the Acq parameters.

[Print PeriPump/AVS]

Prints the PeriPump/AVS parameters.

[Print Tune]

Prints the tune parameters in the current batch.

[Tune Report]

Starts the acquisition to create the tune report for batch. The confirmation message shows the file name of the tune report template that was used.

[Tune Report Settings]

Opens the [Generate Tune Report] dialog box, which lets you configure the settings of the tune report and starts the acquisition.

[Tune Check Criteria]

Opens the [Set Tune Check Criteria] dialog box, which lets you set the check criteria for tuning.

[Offline Data Analysis]

Opens an offline [ICP-MSQQQ Data Analysis] window.

[iQ Interference Simulator]

Opens the [iQ_Interference Simulator] dialog box.

You can simulate the IntelliQuant calculation by entering the acquisition conditions.

[Script] group

[Actions]

Opens the [Select Script File] dialog box, which lets you select a script to run.

This pull-down menu also contains the following menus.

[Add-Ins] group

[sNP Extended Functions]

Turn on this option if you want to use extended functions in Single Nanoparticle acquisitions (Rapid Multi-Element Nanoparticle Analysis).

[Batch Archive] group

[Archive]

This pull-down menu also contains the following menus.

[Zip Batch]

Opens the [Archive File] dialog box, which lets you compress and save the current batch.

[Unzip Batch]

Opens the [Select Zip Files] dialog box, which lets you select a compressed file and then opens the [Extract Files] dialog box, which lets you specify a location to save the extracted files.

[Display Instrument Information]

Displays Instrument Information such as Model Name or Serial Number.

[Compliance] tab

This function is available only when the optional User Access Control is enabled.

[Tools] group

[Change User]

The [Change User] dialog box is displayed and you can log on as another user.

[Lock MassHunter]

When multiple users use the same MassHunter Workstation, you can maintain security (for example, during a change of operator shifts) by using the shift change lock function to lock the MassHunter Workstation that is online.

[Unlock MassHunter]

This item is displayed when MassHunter Workstation is locked using [Lock MassHunter]. The [Change User] dialog box is displayed and you can unlock MassHunter.

[Activity Log and Audit Trail Viewer]

Opens the [Select Batch Folder] (Audit Trail) dialog box. Select the batch folder for which you want to view the audit trail to open the [Audit Trail Viewer] dialog box. You can then view the activity log and the audit trail for the selected batch.

[Upload Activity Log to Database]

When you are using a database, you can upload activity logs to the database.

[Activity Log Viewer]

Displays [Activity Log Viewer] dialog box.

You will see the entries in the System Audit Trail file "mstop.audit.xml" (in the ICPMH\AUDITTRAIL folder), which records operations to change the instrument settings.

[Release Use of Batch]

Select the batch folder in the dialog box displayed to release the batch and allow it to be used on another PC.

[sNP Extension] tab

This tab is displayed when you turn on [sNP Extended Functions] from the [Add-Ins] group on the [Tools] tab.

[sNP Extended Functions] group

[Extended Acquisition]

Enables Single Nanoparticle acquisitions to be performed for more than 17 elements.

This item is displayed in the following cases.
